The AOCRA National OC1/2 Titles were held over the weekend (Dec 7 & 8) down at Coffs Harbour (NSW) in which 10 of our local BOCC paddlers competed.

The conditions were said to be favourable for the race. “We ended up having 15 to 20 knots from the North East and an increasing Southerly,” said Danny Topfer, who competed in the ski division.

The final results for the 25km downwind saw Todd Cohen of Outrigger Australia take line honours in a time just over 1h 45m. He was followed by Greg Long, also from Outrigger Australia, and Daniel Bova from Cronulla OCC.

In the women’s division Townsville-based Coral Darbishire claimed the title in an incredible Online Casino 2h 1m. This placed her 16th overall. She was followed by Amanda Ozolins of Mooloolaba OCC and our very own Robyn Saultry who’s 3rd place saw her retain her Master Women’s OC1 National title.

Other BOCC stars included Ken Gittins (8th Master), Rodney Cooper (17th Master), Russell Johnson (4th Senior Master), Benny Kapa (5th Senior Master), Marianne Van Delden + Jill Duncan (OC2 1st official Senior Master), Brad Hagan (2nd Open Ski) and Danny Topfer (2nd Master Ski).

The weekend also saw BOCC awarded  with the Club National OC1/2 Champions Trophy.This is a trophy awarded based on performance throughout the whole OC1/2 season. It is truly a club effort to receive this accolade and the club is especially chuffed and proud to have achieved it this season.
