On Saturday 12 October, over 20 enthusiastic adults and juniors came along to see what outrigging was all about. After an introduction to our sport, by Danny Topfer (Toppy) and Wendy Seeto, and a video of some great paddle footage, the attendees were taken out on the River in 12-man and 6-man canoes to give it a go.

Almost all of the attendees have signed upfor our 2-week novice course.

There was a great turnout of BOCCies to clean and repair canoes as well as clean the clubhouse, with some coming out of hibernation ready for the new OC6 season!

Connie put on a great BBQ as usual for all attending.

It was a good morning with a mix of work, socialising, instruction and generally catching up. Special thanks goes to Toppy and Wendy for running Buy Viagra the morning, Deb Gittins and Sheryl Richardson (Mini) for organising the paperwork, Ken Gittins, Emma Buosi, and many others for helping with steering and the craft.

The morning had a good relaxed vibe, with emails coming to me later, thanking the club for a well-run but relaxing morning.

We will be starting the first day of the novice course this coming Saturday (Oct 19) at 7:30am. It is still not too late to come along and sign up on the day. Cost is $125 for the 2 days, including a BBQ on the second day 26 October.

Our annual sign up day for members will be on the 26 October with from the PaddleShop there to advise on paddling gear. Good coffees can be bought from across the road at the golf club.
