Sunday 23 October 2011 is the date for BOCCs Annual

Come & Try Event which will run from 9.00am to 11.00am.

This event provides you with an introduction to outrigger paddling.

Outrigger Moonlight Paddle – 20th November 2010

RAW – Real Adventure Women
Join experienced club members for a moonlight outrigger paddle on the safe waters of the Brisbane River. Learn how to paddle the six seater outriggers while taking in the city lights and views. Supper included. Participants must be confident swimmers.

Time: 6pm to 8.30pm
Cost: $35
Where: Brisbane Outrigger Canoe Club, 138 Quay Street, Bulimba
What to Bring: Bundles of enthusiasm and a sense of adventure!!
What to wear: Comfortable clothes, shoes that you can wear in the water, a cap or hat. Change of clothes (just in case!).

Sign On & Working Bee Day – 7th November

The 7th of November is our Sign on day followed by a working bee.
Please be at the club before 9:30am to allow the day to go smoothly.

Pursuit Race – Northcliffe – 27th November 2010

The format for this race will see a return of the “Pursuit” and we look forward to encouraging many juniors & novice paddlers to participate as well as a nice easy start for the more experienced paddlers!
The Pursuit Course is a 4km loop around the safe marine stadium that is the Gold Coast Broadwater. Two canoes commence simultaneously with a further two canoes starting two minutes behind the leaders until all canoes are on the water for that division. The overall winners will be on times of the crews that can complete their laps in the fastest possible time.
The novice course will be 8km (2 laps of the circuit) whilst the short course race will be 12km (3 laps).
Please note that novice crews are allowed to have two experienced paddlers in their crew.
The crew from Surfers Outriggers will be manning the BBQ and Drinks tent during the day – with Breakfast available from 7am.
All paddlers racing on the day must hold current AOCRA insurance. The race will be run in accordance with all current AOCRA rulings. Please refer to the website www.aocra.com.au for further clarification of these rules.
Racing starts at 7:00am
Course – for 8 & 12km races
The course starts in front of the Northcliffe Paddle Site heading South towards Surfers Paradise. The turn is in front of the Versace Hotel, non ama turn around the channel marker, then North back through the channel markers and towards the start line.
