New Member Information

Throughout the year we hold Come & Try Days for people interested in trying Outrigger Canoeing, however, the Come & Try days are generally conducted during the off season around the month of September. Stay tuned for those dates or email the registrar to enquire.

The Novice Program is completed in October. This program has a 3 week timeline which covers all the basics required for the sport of outrigging. The Novices that took part in the recent Program and that have now joined our club are training hard for the approaching race season. Congratulations to all our novice paddlers and a very big welcome to our club.

Further info on the above can be found here.

This is also a call out to anyone who has paddled in the past. Drop us a line and we can get you back into training! We encourage anyone who has a little or a lot of paddling experience to come down to a session and see how much you miss getting on the water. If you are a social paddler or want to get back into competition, now is the time to slowly build that boat fitness back up. We offer three complimentary sessions to see if you want to get back into it. Again, email the BOCC registrar so we can advise you of off-season training sessions.

What to Bring

  • Water bottle
  • Comfortable sun safe clothing (T-shirt or rash/sun safe shirt)
  • A hat is essential
  • A pair of old sandshoes or thongs (they will get wet) to protect you feet on the boat ramp at low tide.

  • A smile and be ready to have some fun!
